How we verify

Each week's picks are researched against the sources below. Venue and organizer pages are ground truth. Local papers surface announcements and last-minute additions. Aggregators are a fallback — never the sole source for a published time or ticket link.

Venue & organizer pages

Source	Reliability	Notes
Belly Up Aspen — official calendar	highest	Ground truth. Complete through Jan 2027. Per-show pages carry exact doors/show times, age policy, opener, fee-inclusive primary prices, sold-out status. 'Just Announced' rail on homepage for new adds. Timeliness: first-party, as-announced
Belly Up Aspen — newsletter / SMS list	high	'Get on the List' email + phone signup in bellyupaspen.com footer (verified live). Earliest presale detection. Timeliness: fast
Wheeler Opera House — official	highest	Ground truth for Wheeler shows. Tickets via aspenshowtix.com. Timeliness: as-announced

Venue social channels

Source	Reliability	Notes
Belly Up Aspen — Facebook	high	Near-daily posts: advance announcements with presale links plus day-of 'TONIGHT' reminders. Best earliest-announcement channel (e.g. Cloonee 12/26 announced 9/8, presale 9/10). Timeliness: fast
Belly Up Aspen — Instagram	high	Show announcements, often mirrored from Facebook. Check for late additions. Timeliness: fast
Belly Up Aspen — X	medium	Official feed from venue footer. Mirrors announcement posts. Timeliness: fast

Local news

Source	Reliability	Notes
Aspen Times — entertainment calendar	medium	CitySpark-powered; searching 'Belly Up' returns the venue's full schedule through Dec 31, matching the official calendar. Times shown are DOOR times, not show times. Good for discovering new announcements — we always confirm times against the venue's own page before publishing. Timeliness: daily
Aspen Daily News — calendar of events	medium	Same CitySpark feed as the Aspen Times; same door-time caveat. Secondary local cross-check. Timeliness: daily

Regional & Colorado coverage

Source	Reliability	Notes
do303 — Belly Up venue page	medium	Colorado concert-announcement site, current through Dec 30. All times normalized to 7:00 PM (door time) — not reliable for show times. Check the main page; the mountain subsite isn't kept current. Timeliness: weekly

Aggregators (fallback only)

Source	Reliability	Notes
JamBase — Belly Up venue page	medium	Current, broad coverage; per-show calendar export (GCal/iCal). Times unreliable — door time shown as event time. Fallback only; verify times against official pages. Timeliness: daily
Concerts50 — Belly Up venue page	medium	Only aggregator whose times matched official SHOW times. Prices shown are resale, not primary. Secondary cross-check only. Timeliness: daily
Sources we’ve retired	low	We no longer check these — listings were outdated, incomplete, or resale-priced: Songkick, allevents.in, Gigsty, the do303 mountain subsite, TicketWeb's venue page, SeatGeek/TicketNetwork. Timeliness: stale

Tourism & town calendars

Source	Reliability	Notes
GoSnowmass.com	high	Official Snowmass events calendar — Balloon Festival, Oktoberfest, etc. Timeliness: weekly
Aspen Chamber Resort Association	high	Restaurant Week, Saturday Market, town-wide events. Timeliness: weekly
